I don’t normally make New Year’s Resolutions. Why? Well, mostly because if there is something in my life that I am not all that happy with, I try to change it then and there. I don’t need a kick in the seat of my pants to eat better, I am already trying. I don’t need to be told to exercise more, I am trying to go to the gym at least once a week. I will up that time if I feel it is necessary, but right now, I think I’m doing good.
Every year on New Year’s Day (or the days immediately following that first of January), I hear about projects. Cool ones that I’d like to do, but I know I don’t have the discipline or the time for. Like Project 365. A photo of yourself for 365 days. Trust me, though, when you’re sick in bed, who’s going to want to get out just to take a photo, when you already know you look like hell? Certainly not me.
So I’m trying something that I think is definitely cool. I think it will help keep me more focused on the positive in my life, and who couldn’t use that? It’s called 52 Blessings. It’s a flickr group, but I’m going to do it in my own way. Starting this week. Once a week, (I still have to pick a day) I am going to post a photo and a short message about what I am thankful to be blessed with for that week.
You can hold me to it. I am sure I will probably falter, maybe even in a few months. But this year, I’m putting it out there. I’ve made a resolution. To write on my blog and post a photo once a week of something I am thankful for.
